About 247FoodCheck
247foodcheck.com answers one question, thousands of ways: is it safe? Safe to eat while pregnant, safe after three days in the fridge, safe to reheat, safe past the date on the label, safe after a night on the counter.
Every verdict on this site is grounded in official public guidance: the NHS (pregnancy and breastfeeding food advice), the UK Food Standards Agency (reheating, chilling and date labelling), and the USDA FoodKeeper database (storage times, a public-domain resource maintained with the FDA and Cornell University). Where UK guidance is stricter than US guidance — cooked rice being the famous example — we follow the stricter UK position and say so on the page.
We don't fabricate numbers, we don't guess, and we mark every page with its primary source. The site is part of the 247 Tools Network of free reference tools.
Nutritional data sourced from USDA FoodData Central and Public Health England. Always consult a registered dietitian for personal dietary advice.
Who maintains this site
247foodcheck.com is maintained by food safety researchers who compile and cross-check official public guidance. All content is reviewed for accuracy against the primary sources before publishing, and pages are updated when official guidance changes.
Editorial standards
Verdicts come from NHS, FSA and USDA guidance and nowhere else — never from affiliate relationships (see our affiliate disclosure). Every page names its primary source. If you spot something out of date, please tell us via the contact page. You can also read our privacy policy.
